Antonio Cedeno Presents A SHOWSTOPPER!

ANTONIO CEDENO PRESENTS: A SHOW STOPPER! There is no such thing as an ordinary night when Antonio Cedeno’s name is attached to a party. What started out as a night of “nothing special” turned into an unforgettable evening! Everyone had on “Mister” Tee-shirts. MISTER is an app and website for adult men. Check it out at http://www.misterapp.com Unfortunately, when your name is Ed you avoid putting the word MR. before it. (Mr. Ed, the talking horse) Event host, the AMAZING and ever so CHARMING, Antonio Cendeno was at the door greeting all who entered- and MANY entered! The place was mobbed with people just having a GREAT time! The staff worked hard to keep up with the crowd, but always had smiles on their faces. Special APPLAUSE to DIEGO for creating the stylish cuts on my tee-shirt! Feathers staff goes so beyond the norm to keep customers happy. Scott was serving this girl water all night and she never tipped him, yet he kept serving her and genuinely smiling. The drink special was a VERY LARGE $10.00 Iced Tea Drink- IT WAS INSANE! I salute all you survived those drinks! It just added to the fun that Antonio was creating. The music was untouchable! Lady Tita kept the guest prisoners to the dance floor! My legs were crying to stop dancing, but the music was so good I just couldn’t leave the floor. She created a musical setting that has never been seen before at Feathers. Lights-Fog- Music-Drink! Excellent time! You know she had to have been feeling like a Goddess, because she ruled the night! There was a guest DJ, Obra Primitiva, who had his own style going on downstairs in the lounge. He had them dancing at the bar-and if the ceiling was higher, they would have been dancing ON the bar. Fingers crossed that they have him back again soon! Not only is his music smoking hot-so is he!!! Show time interrupted my love affair with the music, and like a scorned lover I was not happy. Antonio brought out his guest and I wanted so hard to hate her for stopping the music, but fell in love with her! Josephine Halle B- remember that name! She came out to Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5” and then whipped out her trench coat and brought down the house with her rendition of RuPaul’s “WORK” and work she did! The crowd when crazy! If Feathers dance floor was going it fall apart- last night would have been the night it happened! They were stamping and jumping! It was GREAT to experience. I do not know how Antonio does it, but he brings such GREAT talent to his events! She was in charge of the contest and the winner received Two TKTS to “WICKED”….How cool is that! After the show Josephine graciously met fans in the lounge area and posed for pictures! What an incredible performer. There was also a tee-shirt, hat and gym bag give-a-ways by the dancers- MY FAVORITE-WILLIE was there! LOVE HIM!!! Before I close I want to give a shout out to Antonio’s friend Mikey . He is always at ALL of Antonio’s events and is always running around helping Antonio out. Also, a shout out to Principito! He had such a great event last week and nice to see him supporting Antonio and Feather! Well, tired from the night of dancing and chatting and FUN! Thanks again ANTONIO !!! P.S…I love that Feathers is taking the responsibility of AIDS testing and having vans in their parking lot. KUDOS!

Principito Presents Playhouse and Brings down the house!

PRINCIPITO brought DOWN the HOUSE with his PLAYHOUSE!
Last night Feathers was on fire and it was all thanks to Principito’s Playhouse! I knew from the moment I walked in the door that something caliente was on the horizon. There was some discussion about tee shirts and the fact that they said something implying the person wearing the shirt was HIV. I guess the message was to make the public aware that ANYONE can be affected with the disease. THIS IS AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE AND EVERYONE SHOULD ALWAYS PLAY SAFE! But, I don’t think the PR department ever visited a gay bar. Imagine all the facebook pictures if all the bartenders wore those shirts? Credit to Eddie, the manager, and Mikey, the waiter, who attempted to wear the shirt but they were over-whelmed with customers inquiring about their HIV status and even I could feel the scared stares they both received. Imagine the day people educate themselves before they judge others. TWO THUMBS UP to Principito and Dorian for including such an important health issue in a night of fun and fever! But with or with-out shirts the people flocked in. By 11:30 there was a line outside the club. This was my first experience with a club party hosted by Principito and I was quite impressed. The decorations were colorful and fun! Principito, himself, was so generous with his time and made every guest feel welcomed. Dorian (aka Harmonica Sunbeam) was co-host and worked feverously to supply entertainment to the crowd. It is a thankless job, unless you work in the business- keeping crowds and entertainers happy is not an easy task. SHOUT OUT to DORIAN who has been a staple at Feathers for many years and is very much appreciated. Tiffany Richards and Cyannie Famouz provided the drag entertainment and had the crowd screaming for more. It was PACKED! They worked the audience and kept the fever going! I have to be honest with you; it was so packed I could not even get close to the stage! That is impressive! There were the HOTTEST dancers I had ever seen on five different level dance boxes. The guest couldn’t get enough of them. Whatever flavor you are into there was a dancer to satisfy your hunger. They brought the steam to the hot sounds that DJ JOHN RIZZO was throwing out! Rizzo out did himself and the customers noticed. So many conversations I had with customers included how great the music and how each better was better than the one before. The dance floor was packed ALL NIGHT LONG! I had a great time hanging out with Scott, Eddie and Paul. They are always so much fun and add to the festive mood. Unfortunately, I didn’t notice Diego behind the bar until I was leaving. He is such a sweetie! He was working with downstairs Eddie, who my eyes always fall upon. Vinnie was packed all night working on the dance floor. He served with a smile all night long! They had an adorable shot boy, Patrick, who sold frozen drink specials all night. He was quite a hit and everyone wanted a pic with him! It was nice to be at a party that promised fun and delivered! Keep your eyes opened for the next Principito party and DON’T MISS IT!

At The BEACH pics

HE'S BACK! Antonio Cedeno returns to Feathers!

So I joined MATCH.COM in hopes of finding my Mr. Right and all I have found is every psycho in the tri-state area! One 50 year old date showed up with his sister. I was surprised, but not alarmed until he mentioned that they do EVERYTHING together. Another date used his son’s picture and assured me that he could get his son to join in if he threatens him. Where do they come from and why does match.com think these are people of interest to me?! Every morning I get a suggestion list and I email all of them and try to be a pleasant person when I reject the rejects they send me. I am a health conscience 52 year old third grade school teacher looking for someone to share my life with. I look young for my age and why match.com thinks I want an overweight, paraplegic, bald headed man from the Bronx who collects cat tails is beyond me! I look in the mirror every morning thinking, “Am I THAT ugly?!” I mean, really? Last night’s date was insanely extra-ordinary! I was the psycho! We went to my favorite restaurant, Basilica’s on 9th in NYC for dinner. We were having a nice time and I was kinda thinking – this is it. We decided to go for a drink at a very New York traditional establishment: “Don’t Tell Mama’s” . While walking there I bumped into a foe from my past. I know I actually have a foe! The icy glare we shared told me that trouble was in the air and about to be released. “Back to pan-handling?” he snidely commented. I wasn’t quite sure what he meant, but I knew it wasn’t nice. I shot back, “I guess not all the trash was picked up off the street.” My date wasn’t quite comfortable with the exchange and I could feel this was going to be a date-breaker. I tried to ignore my foe which was pretty hard to do when he sneezed a wet one in my face. I pushed him away and he fell over a passerby. I reached out to help him up and he took me down with him. Real mature. That was about the extent of our battle. Neither one of us wanted to get our outfits ruined. When I looked up I realized my date was missing. Actually, I think I was him in POSH having a laugh with a hot looking guy – at MY expense. With a full belly (which makes me look like the overweight’s I try to avoid on match.com), and another failed attempt at finding Mr. Right I go to the place where I feel safe- no, not the county jail- Feathers. I got there early and was surprised to see all these FABULOUS decorations-kinda had a beachy feel. I went with it and found Eddie, the manager. I found out that Antonio Cedeno was back and hosting the SUMMER BEACH BLAST. It was a long time coming and the night was a complete success! No detail left unturned. From the moment you walked into Feathers last night it was like walking into an event, beach balls and fish tanks and excitement followed you throughout the evening. The GLAM SQUAD were there to hand out lei’s to all the guest. I have to say, in all my years at Feathers, and the gay life cycle I have never seen a more beautiful group of illusionist! They were breath taking! I hear they are representing Feathers at Asbury’s Sand Blast this year. GIVE A BIG SHOUT OUT TO THEM IF YOU GO! FABULOUS! The show consisted of Antonio bringing out the shows emcee, who encouraged guest to enter the wet swimsuit contest. Kiki Kinx was incredible as the evenings MC- HILARIOUS! She stepped onto the stage and took control of the evening. She gave a new meaning to camp as she spray gunned the wet swim suit contestants with her water gun! She shot at the contestant’s finest features which left many holding their crotches in pain- those water blasters can really hurt! To show how times have changed- the winner was a girl! Everyone had the best laugh and such a good time with the contest! Next the star entertainment was presented- Aiden Leslie! WOW! WOW! WOW! He kidnapped the audience the minute he stepped on the stage and kept them captivated the whole time! It has been a long time since I have seen a singer who could quite a Saturday night party crowd with their voice- Aiden Leslie did just that. His voice was only matched by his beautiful aura that casted a spell among all that were watching. His performance will stay with me a long time. I think he should give “THE GLEE PROJECT” a call. He could definitely give Darren Criss a run for his money. After the show the fun continued with the GLAM SQUAD taking over the dance floor and got the crowd involved. It wasn’t too hard a task because John Rizzo was setting the floor on FIRE. He put the SIZZLE in the night’s event! The dance floor was packed the whole night! The bartenders were smiling all night as they served drinks non-stop! Every bar, up and down, were two deep the whole night! Shots and frozen drinks were passed around and enjoyed by all. A SHOUT OUT to DJ David Gerlitzki for keeping the party going downstairs. Your talent did not go unnoticed! Also, A SHOUT OUT to Principito (aka Principito Presents) for his GREAT support and great events at Feathers! He has a smile that lights up a room and is his positive energy is so contagious! Keep an eye open for ANTONIO CEDENO PRESENTS next event at Feather- Hey Antonio- it’s nice to have you back where you belong! xoxoxo

Three cheers to Steve Sidewalk, Lxs Eventos and Antonio

With the thought of hiding eggs for my nieces and nephews on Easter Morning and a non-stop chain of relatives calling from dawn until noon reminding me about where I have to be and when I was thankful to be able to anticipate a late night of craziness with Antonio Cedeno and he delivered .
Allow me to back track. It seems I am the only one in my family that can hid Easter eggs and remember where I hid them. My mother, God rests her soul, would hide the eggs in the back yard so well and then forget where she hid them. We wouldn’t find them until the fall when the flowers died and we were raking leaves. We have cousins and their kids that come over, and neighbors join in. I hide about 160 eggs. The kids carry their baskets and collect as many as they can. I think it is the one tradition that didn’t change when my parents passed away. The kids, and adults look forward to it and we play it up for the kids. Of course you have to go to mass and have a big Easter breakfast before the egg hunt. Being in charge of hiding the eggs is like being in charge of someone’s kidney during a transplant. Everyone needs to know where I am at all times until the eggs are hidden. I left my cell phone in the car and escaped to Feathers. I was overcome with the decorations that adorned the whole downstairs. There were red ribbons to remind everyone why they were there.
Saturday was the last night of a three night fundraiser to benefit NJCR, an organization that helps people with HIV/ AIDS..
Steve Sidewalk hosted the first night on Wednesday and in true “Sidewalk” tradition he packed the place with over 600 people and raised over $1,500.00. He gave away tickets to Lady Ga-Ga . People are still posting about the fun they had at Steve’s fundraiser. Thursday found Lxs Eventos hosting Latin Night benefit continuing the benefit raising over $800.00! Applause to Lady Tita, John Martin, and the terrific staff!!! Amazing how even in the most depressing of times these promoters are able to do so much to benefit others! HATS OFF TO YOU GUYS!
So there I was in the middle of cheap drinks, LA FITNESS Gym Membership give-a ways, condoms and hot guys! What more do you need in life? GREAT entertainment and that was also provided! I do not know Antonio Cedeno pulls these things off, but he actually had Gioia Bruno from Expose http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=518751959&sk=info
She tore up the dance floor performing old and new songs! What A FREAKING GREAT PERFORMER! Cheering her on was Alexa Prisco from Jerseylicious ! She was so sweet and had conversations with everyone ! These ladies made the party memorable for everyone! Gioia surprised everyone and had a meet and greet downstairs! The night just kept getting better. As I got a HOT and much needed massage from “HOT HANDS” Scotty J, I wondered if life gets any better and found out-IT DOES!
The cherry on top of the ice cream sundae of life was Go-go dancer Willie. Willie has got to be the best thing to ever enter a gay bar! WARM - WONDERFUL AND WAGGING!
Between Willie and DJ John Rizzo, who was spinning on the dance floor, you could not walk upstairs. It was one of those nights when it’s last call before you know it. The night ended with Antonio raising a total of over $3,000.00. They also had HIV testing in the parking lot so there were many people who slept comfortable that night knowing that safe-sex does save lives. I was snuggling in with my sweet dreams until the phone started to ring..
“What Mass are you going to?”
“Are you bringing flowers or a balloon for mommy and daddy’s grave?”
“Did you hide the eggs?”
“Don’t hide them too high, Kelly is wearing a dress and the boys will see up her dress if she has to reach up.”
“Where are you coming over?”
“Did you get up yet?”
All this before 8am
I rolled out of bed into the shower

I do my Catholic tradition thing and go to church on Easter Sunday and I do my other Catholic tradition thing and leave during communion. This 90 year old man stops me and informs me that it doesn't count if you leave before the priest ends mass..."Be ashamed to have wasted an hour here and not have it count." Who makes up these rules?...I stayed-Catholic tradition of guilt trumps Catholic tradition of quick get-away.
Happy EASTER and thanks for caring

AIDS benefit benefits YOU

It’s Time to put your money, not your lip gloss, where your mouth is
Many years ago before most of you could hold a pencil, never-mind a cell phone, there were the greatest happiest group of people! The world called them “gay” because they were always smiling and having the time of their lives! They had boyfriends and lovers and jet-setted around the world…Then came AIDS
I was there when the New York Times article hit the papers and the fear of dying was first and fore most on everyone’s mind. You were afraid to love someone because you had no idea what they had, or who they slept with. So many of my friends were addicted to the life style we grew up with - celibacy was not an option and they paid with their lives. We had a President that was more concerned with space adventure than finding a cure. The NATIONAL NEWS reported that you could contact AIDS by touching. Every effeminine guy was thrown to the wolves and the "Straight acting" hid even further into their closets. It didn't matter what kind of person you were, just what kind of person you looked like. If you lost weight they accused you of having AIDS-people stayed away from you. I saw bartenders throw glasses into the garbage afraid that it was infected. People died alone because hospitals wouldn't let anyone near AIDS patients. As I type and look back I wonder, “Am I really the lucky one?” I survive with the memory of the way it was.
This week Antonio Cedeno is partnering up with Steve Sidewalk and Lxs Eventos and creating a fund raising event that will knock AIDS out of this world and it is about time!
You can read the flyers to find out all the fun events and surprise guest and the hot go-go guys, I want you to go because you care and YOU want to be one of the people who make a DIFFERENCE!
You have the POWER to count- Come out and drop a five dollar bill!
My memories of the bar life in the 80’s are clouded by customers melting away to nothing right before my eyes.
My memories of the bar life in the 80’s are clouded by going to funerals every other night.
Over 2 million people are newly infected each year! The number is growing and the concern is not!
$5.00 or more to care!
Bring in that annoying change that can add up to a cure!
Be the HERO generation!
My best friend (pictured)said it best, after finding out he was HIV+ he told me he felt relieved. I was puzzled until he told me why- “I don’t want to die, but I don’t want to live being afraid of dying.” All he wanted was someone to love him and it was that search that took his life. None of us should have to be afraid to make love to find love! Maybe I am lucky for knowing him.
$5.00 or more to care!
Come out and show that you care
Come out and show that you want to love with-out a death sentence.
Spare change can spare a life
Your $5.00 can be the $5.00 that finances the cure.
