Blaque is the new black.

From the moment you walked down into Club Feathers you knew you were walking into something different? Sometimes different is good and sometimes it’s not. I wasn’t quite sure which different this one was…It was dark – my first thought, “They didn’t pay the bills!” then there was something creepy rubbing my neck- “Oh, great, Spider webs!”-not quite, it was black material. I am always apprehensive when it comes to Black, Blaque, Parties-no matter how you spell the word it means NO LIGHTS!
I can hardly see with the lights on; turning the lights off just means more black and blues on my fragile body and making out with guys I would never give a second look to and ending up going out to dinner even after seeing how ugly they are with the lights on because I don’t want them to think I am superficial even though I am, but I won’t admit that I am!
I digress
I was leaning towards bad different until I saw that Tone-Tone (Tony Albanese from “Cake Boss” http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/tony.albanese ) had baked a cake! Whenever I see Tone-Tone’s cake I know the night is going to be a success and tonight was no different. The cake was on display for all to see and as usual was a one of a kind master-piece. When Tone-Tone, Chris and Luis are together you know that you are going to have a memorable night and hopefully it won’t end with an over-weight man in a uniform asking to see your driver’s license.
I didn’t even get to the stairs when I bumped into Adam Barta, from LOGO (http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/adambartafans ) and Kim G from (RHONJ) http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/pages/Kim-Granatells/137381789618742), and recording star, Reina http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/reina.music ! Needless to say it took a while before I made it upstairs. Whenever you put Adam and Kim together they just keep you entertained for hours, okay, maybe not hours, but lots of long minutes. They have so many new projects on the burners and so much steamy gossip. Sign up to their pages to learn more.
Antonio Cedeno, looking so freaking hot, was downstairs greeting everyone and smiling for pictures. I am always amazed how great he looks, and how friendly he is with his guests (as he refers to all that come to his events). Antonio introduced me to Scott J. the hot new masseuse he hired for Friday nights and special parties. Did I mention all he wears is a g-string while he performs his services?
I am telling you time goes by too quickly at Antonio’s parties. Everyone one was in such a great mood and sharing laughs with each other. It took me over an hour to make my way to say hi to Lady Tita in the DJ booth. Just as I was about to enter the DJ booth I was introduced to the one and only Gioia Bruno, the lead on the Exposé singles Let Me Be The One, What You Don't Know, and Tell Me Why. http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/profile.php?id=518751959 . She is the sweetest and most down to earth recording artist that I have ever met! We chatted and after 5 minutes I felt like I knew her all my life!
I finally got to say hi to DJ Lady Tita, http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/profile.php?id=782467529 who was playing as if she was possessed! She banged out one hot mix after another. There was not one dry arm pit in that whole place! Sweat was dripping off people like bbq sauce drips off ribs! It was a hot mess and everyone was in ecstasy!
This is the real life wonder woman, Lady Tita can spin hot sounds while carrying on two conversations, take request, text her messages and crotchet a sweater! She got the show line up and executed the play list as if she had the list all night!
The show line up was phenomenal!
I have to take a moment to compliment Antonio Cedeno on his hosting skills. He has grown so well as an MC and looks so comfortable on stage. He introduced the Hostess for the evening, Dallas DuBois who was hysterical. Her performance was magnificent (how she shook her head for so long is beyond my ability to understand) and was only over shadowed by her brilliance with the microphone. I love New Yorkers who come to New Jersey and act as if we are a different country. She played well with the audience and a good time was had by all!
The first recording artist to perform was Will Sheridan. He had the audience going along with him as he hypnotized the audience with his dynamic voice and smooth moves. WE WANT MORE! MORE! After the performances were done, Dallas returned to host the “Best in Black” contest: Guest judges Tone-Tone, Kim G, Adam Barta and Renia kept the audience entertained with juicy “reality show” gossip. The contest winner received two tickets to see Harvey Fierstein in “LaCage Aux Folles”. You really don’t know what you are missing until you experience an Antonio Cedeno Presents party! They are really turning into events.
After the show the judges went downstairs to cut the cake and have fun dishing it out--- cake that is…I don’t know about you, but I cannot wait until the next Antonio Cedeno Presents party! If I could just get a freaking date for one of them!!!

Turning forty


Whether you are celebrating a special occasion, or a friend is, or you just want to get out of the house- Club Feather’s is the place to be! What Antonio Cedeno has done to Feathers is just incredible! Last night was a 40th Birthday party for one of Club Feather’s own –DJ LADY TITA and there were crowds upon crowds there to help her celebrate the milestone. What makes Lady Tita in a league of her own is the smile that she shares willingly with all around! She is always there to lift your spirits whether it’s through her spinning or her warm words of encouragement.
Last night was no exception; the dance floor was on fire all night and only stopped for a moment when they saluted the LADY of the night. Veronica Conway started the night off with a song that spoke to all- FREE, “You’re free to do what you want to do.” I hear that you have that freedom when you turn forty; I cannot wait to see if that is true.
Scott, aka Veronica, gave up his night behind the bar to entertain the crowd and entertain he did! Veronica tore up the song and the dance floor with her usual flair! Then out came Ginger Vitis to continue the joy with the song “JOY”, shooting confetti out into the crowd! Ginger also had the bright idea of throwing lollipops out into the audience – there is no way to look attractive when you are trying to duck on-coming lollipops, BUT FUN TO WATCH!
So much fun and so many hot studs roaming the dance floor trying to seek me out and who should happen to start up a conversation with me? PINKIE! This African American chick comes and ask me for the time or a light or a tampon…Who could focus on her words when you are staring at this bright, flashing neon pink hair. Before I could say anything she just bounced away-literally BOUNCED! This guy turns to me and asked if I thought her hair was real, "I am sure she thinks it is!" Why do they find me? I want a nice guy with a smile that will melt my heart and all I get is the crazies, and the unemployed!
The cherry to the end of a perfect night was seeing my WILLIE dance! I LOVE Go-Go dancer WILLIE! He is so terrific! Antonio Cedeno has started to hire some strippers and last night he struck gold with Kafe! The guy has a body to die for and a smile that melts your heart! He teased and pleased the crowd! There was not one disappointed pair of pants in the crowd! He got EVERYONE’S blood pumping!I BIG shout out to the HOT new Bartender-Tom! Make sure you say hi and welcome him into the FEATHERS family!

Valentine’s Day- my favorite time of the year- not! Most people think the pressure of not having a lover for the Christmas holidays is depressing, try going shopping in January and February and seeing all the flowers and balloons and chocolate candy reminding you that you are ALONE! I can avoid the HALLMARK stores, which I renamed the HELLMARK stores, but when they are selling this “couples are the only ones who deserve chocolates” propaganda in supermarkets and gas stations I think it has gotten out of hand. I haven’t even mentioned the little sugar heart that have those nauseating “Miss Ya”, “Hot Stuff” messages – I have a message for all those love birds eating all those calories-TOOTH DECAY!
Am I bitter? Is Snow White a dirty whore who was getting it on with seven midgets while she waited for a guy with money?
I digress…
After a fun evening at the Theater, I went to see “The Divine Sister” (A MUST SEE), I ventured back to New Jersey to party at Club Feathers. Doesn’t everyone leave the exciting, energetic happening NYC to travel to River Edge, New Jersey? Well they should! It was another Antonio Cedeno Presents party! I walked in to be greeted by Antonio Cedeno, who was sporting a cane due to a back injury. I have to admit he looked like a sexy Willie Wonka leading me into his Chocolate Factory. I haven’t seen him have that much fun at one of his parties in a long time. I thought it might have been the pain killers, but it wasn’t it was just a great night. Antonio had put together a night to be remembered. DJ-ing downstairs was the FANTASTIC David G. He played for the people and the people created their own dance floor! I love watching the energy of the dance floor spill over to the lower level! It’s like two clubs in one! PS…There was also a cute new bartender named TOMMY. He has a KILLER smile to match his killer abs! Club Feathers has always been a friendly “Family style” night club. I encourage everyone to stop by the new bartenders and say hi! They are a bundle of nerves behind the bar and your kindness can make their night. It doesn’t take away from “your favorites”, just adds to the atmosphere of the place.
You can tell Eddie the manager was busy this week collecting decorations. The place looked incredible! Red feather boas adorned the dance floor and heart shaped “I LOVE YOU” balloons brighten up the surrounding walls. It was a just the fun look the place needed to compliment the occasion. Adding to the decorations were the sexy customers. I swear each guy was cuter than the next. I have not seen so many hot guys at Club Feathers in a long time! Seems winter hibernation is over and the studs have returned to PARTY and party they did! DJ John Rizzo kept them, sweating, on the dance floor all night! I was exhausted from dancing when I looked at my cell phone to find it was only 11:40! The night was young, I only wish I was!
Does anyone wear watches anymore? I remember the pickup line used to be; “Do you have the time?” You really can’t really say that anymore because you would look like a loser without a cell phone.
A few of the workers had on “WET” t-shirts. (Including Diego; I love seeing Diego behind the bar- such a great guy. He was always so complimentary when I used to work there.) The whole night I was trying to make eye contact with him to no avail. At one point I thought I had caught his eye- he threw something my way. I thought it was his phone number, it was a lube sample. Not one to give up easily I continued to try and make eye contact. This time I got blind sighted and got a sample in my eye. They really have to work on an easier was to give out give-a-ways. I got clunked on the head with a porn DVD, which I wouldn’t have minded it I got to keep it! But it bounced off my head and into the hands of a comb-over, buck toothed fatty! I didn’t say they were all gorgeous.
But the best part of the night was the amazing Bianca Del Rio! She is the Drag Lisa Lampanelli! So hysterical! If you get a chance to see her - RUN! She had me in stitches from the moment she was introduced to the time she exited the stage! I can’t even find the words to describe how incredible she was! Hopefully they will have her there again! A packed dance floor on a Saturday night and people wanted more! She hosted a wet underwear contest. It was quite clever they way they wet the contestants. They provided water guns to the audience and they squirted the contestants underwear-CUTE.
What I LOVED about Bianca was that after the show she walked around the bar and made small talk with a lot of the customers. Most of the time performers come in with their own people and stay with their own people. She really enjoyed the night along with everyone else. Two thumbs up to a GREAT Performer and A GREAT Promoter-Antonio Cedeno!

No matter what club you go to (NY/NJ) it’s a ghost town.
I have searched high and low and still cannot find a place that has life.
Until…
Club Feathers offer discount drinks (Vodka tonic’s for two bucks!) HOT dancers, fun bartenders all for a five dollar cover( mind you it cost $8.oo to just get over the bridge). Still the place struggles to get one hundred and fifty people!

Now on Friday nights Club Feathers will be premiering “RuPaul’s Drag Race”
Why wait till Monday when you can see it on Friday?
I was told the night was busy-even after a snow storm!
I had to see this with my own eyes...
The customers and bar workers were having a ball. They were handing out free give-a-ways like, tee-shirts and pom-pom’s and drag mask! They were playing shot games-Every time they said the word “drag” they did a shot, Attitude drag walks around the downstairs, betting on who was going to move on and other activities. The place was buzzing with laughter and excitement!
When the show was over they played it back and kept the party going. Meanwhile, John Rizzo had an energy flow capturing the customers on the dance floor. His music was so FABULOUS! I was on the dance floor for a half hour straight! It was terrific! Shout out’s to customers celebrating events had everyone joining in and giving reason for more shots!
Scott J was the dancer and I defy anyone to show me someone more chiseled and near perfection than he is! The man is a Michelangelo sculpture brought to life! Some of the dancers may break a sweat to get people’s attention, but all Scott J has to do is “pose” and people flock-plus he is a GREAT masseuse!
You can find Scott J giving out relaxing body massages on Saturday nights at Club Feathers- his strong, warm hands rubbing your back and shoulders makes you feel like you got “lucky” and you don’t have to make him breakfast-o maybe you do … ;)
On Saturday, Antonio Cedeno Presents BOY-Lesque hosted by Ginger Vitis and Veronica Conway and a slew of the HOTTEST Go-Go Dancers! What a FUN night! Club Feathers introduced a stripper’s pole and these guys showed us exactly what to do with it! WOW!
Ginger Vitis, who on a personal note I have to say I was so PROUD to see Joey (Ginger Vitis) come into his own as a performer. I have seen Ginger through the year’s guest starring in other performers shows and never getting the recognition or attention he/she deserved- that has all changed! Ginger Vitis IS the ONLY CHER! The character was brought to life by Ginger and the audience went wild! Ginger worked the go-go dancers and had them in positions that I didn’t think were possible.
Then enter Veronica Conway ( who I adore on stage) belting out number after number and having the audience howling for more! The two of them together are magic and I hope to see more!They have brought back the old show morale,humor and professionalism. Watching them race around before the show to make sure it went off with no glitches reminded me of the old shows when performers took the time to care, and you can see that both Scott and Joey care.

LAST, but certainly not least, it seems bartender Artie got a promotion and will be Club Feathers NEW floor manager and Diego has been promoted to bartender! No one deserves it more than these guys! I love Club Feathers- They really do put people first and take care of their own! Appreciate it guys! What other club has a heart?

New Years Eve and a New Year of PArties

This year I found myself just floating through the holidays, whether it was the economy, working 12 hour days, or just a blandness that seemed to filter through the air. I was determined to get that old holiday spirit back even if I had to have three ghosts visit me on Christmas Eve.
As I get older I find that holidays are really for children and there is emptiness when you take Christ out of Christmas. Trust me this is quite shocking for me and anyone who knows me knows how much I used to LOVE presents! But as you get older and you have everything you really need holidays really do become about the feelings.
This year my cousin’s eight year daughter was in a church pageant and played an angel. I sat in the church from 2 o’clock until 5, and listened to all the religious Christmas songs. Whether it’s old age, or new age awareness, but I listened to the songs and let the words sink in as they were sung. “Joy to the World”, written in 1719, mentions having “heaven and nature sing”. I sat thinking creating a relationship between heaven and earth was conversation that far back! Amazing! Watching the first Christmas being re-created by little second and third graders brought a smile to my heart and started adding color to my bland spirit. Christmas morning found me exchanging gifts with family and getting caught up in a hot, feverish game of Trouble with my cousins five year old. I needed to pop a 6 to win and was so disappointed when a 2 appeared. Seeing my disappointment my cousin’s kid took the game and flipped it over and shook it. “What are you doing?” I asked as I gathered the pieces that flew when he flipped the game over. “I’m trying to get you a 6.” My holiday spirit was completed. Children and religion do have a place in Christmas, a good place.
Every holiday season I swear to myself that I am not going to get caught up in the New Years Eve insanity! You know the last minute hopes of love and trying to find a date to kiss at midnight – a true love that will last the whole year long- and every December 31st I find myself hunting out a victim to give me my 12:00 kiss… and every 12:02 I have to ask, “What’s your name again?” - real meaningful.
As I entered Club Feathers I started soaking up the melancholy mood New Years Eve brings, painfully aware not to go to deep fearing the present will be overshadowed by the last years regret, but that won’t happen Tony Mona just entered snapping me back to the laughs this evening has in store. I have spent so many New Years Eves at Club Feathers, but this year was filled with excitement and smiles! Everyone walked in happy to be there and went that extra step to be kind and bubbly! There was an “Antonio Cedeno” mood in the air and everyone was catching it! Lady Tita was playing in the downstairs lounge and set the high energy mood from the moment the guest entered the club. Added to the energy was the sweet aroma of Chef John Rizzo’s to die for buffet! Mouth-watering doesn’t come close to describing the presentation and taste of the food that was offered.
It still baffles me that a club can offer such a GREAT buffet and open bar and breakfast all for $40.00! When I worked there people actually complained about the price saying, I don’t drink that much liquor! I would respond “Go buy a six pack and stay parked in your driveway.”
Eddie and his wonderful staff were in high spirits and greeting guest as they entered. Eddie, the manager, welcomed old timers and gave them a tour of all the changes that occurred through the year. DJ John Rizzo had the dance floor packed early and kept them dancing until Antonio Cedeno and Tony Mona came out to ring in the New Year! The balloons dropped and the champagne corks popped! Kisses hugs and handshakes were running wild…yes a hand shake. I waited all year for a midnight handshake on New Year’s Eve! I started chatting with a customer that I had known for years but never talked to-I decided to chat with him this night. We started hitting it off and before I knew it the countdown began. I wasn’t sure what to do and at 12:00 we looked at each other with magic in our eyes and he threw out his hand shook mine.
We chatted a little longer and then I excused myself to go to the restroom-actually I was casing the joint to see if there was anything better than Mr. Handshake.- there wasn’t. So I went back and he wasn’t there! The nerve! I joined Tony Mona to find out that the entertainment showed up and was about to begin! What a TERRIFIC show! I was really surprised! JIPSTA & SANDY B were GREAT! Jipsta is a talent to keep your eye on- if you missed him, your loss.
I left the club as the donuts and coffee was being served- a person can only allow themselves so much excitement. What a wonderful way to ring in the New Year, and hey a handshake just lets me know that the only way to go is up! Did you hear that single men!?

AC hits another HOME RUN

Antonio Cedeno strikes another home run!
Feathers is going to need reconstruction with all these guest performers coming in and ripping the place apart! Sherry Vine had them stomping the floor begging for more and last night Pandora Boxx had them tearing up the floor and rushing the stage!
From the moment you walked in the air of Feathers was light and whimsical. If anyone needs proof that a Christmas miracle has occurred take note: Antonio actually HAD clothes on! I have known him for many years and didn’t recognize him! He was in great form; relaxed and just hanging. He hung out with everyone, making sure everyone was smiling and having a good time. He even went shot for shot with many of the walk in customers, as well as the "AC –ites" ; his groupies have nick-named themselves this.
Everyone was laughing, dancing and enjoying themselves as the time flew by. DJ Lady Tita was her GREAT self burning up the floor and raising the already high energy. The cherry on the top of such a fun evening was the incredible funny PANADORA BOXX! She had the group going from the moment she stepped onto the stage-just flying in from Florida. (Boy, were her arms tired! - now you know why I write and don’t perform stand-up. The place went crazy and continued until last call!
After the show was the meet and greet –what a nice person she is! There was a surprise cake from Feathers own, rising star-Tony Albanese. Tony is making quite a name for himself outside of working for the CAKE BOSS. (Within a year he will be the man that you will say, “I knew him when…”) The cake was a work of art and so appreciated by Pandora, and everyone else!
Besides, the hot new dancer (book him for the year} the upstairs had a surprise when DJ AJ started the evening off with his great sound and fun attitude! He is missed and hopefully will made more guest appearances!
I’ve said this before and I will continue to say this when you see Antonio Cedeno Presents…(AC) on a flyer mark the date on your calendar because it is a night not to be forgotten!
